About Me

Hi, I’m Maria Howe — a UX/UI Designer and visual storyteller who believes great design starts with empathy.

With over eight years in visual design and branding, and a year in UX/UI, I’m passionate about crafting experiences that are not just beautiful, but genuinely helpful. Whether it's a nonprofit website for survivors of trafficking or a branding project for a veteran-led startup, I approach every project with care, creativity, and a commitment to making something that matters.

My style leans clean and professional, but I always leave room for personality. I love balancing structured layouts with playful, organic touches — and when I can, I like to bring in bold, vibrant colors that make a design come alive.

When I’m not designing, you can find me enjoying a good cup of coffee, cooking with my son, or mentoring young creatives. I’m also passionate about supporting non-profits and contributing to projects that make a positive impact in our communities.

My Journey

My journey started in 3D Animation and Fine Arts, where I developed an eye for color, shape, and storytelling. That creative background naturally led me to UX/UI — a field where I could combine artistic intuition with human-centered design.
I’ve worked with startups, nonprofits, and independent clients, gaining hands-on experience in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design. These projects taught me how to stay grounded in user needs, communicate clearly, and design with intention.

My Philosopy

I believe design should solve problems and spark connection. My process is always user-centered, starting with research and evolving through collaboration and iteration. I bring empathy, creativity, and strategic thinking into every phase of a project.
